5-Minutes with Ariel

AKA: Cultoflee

Describe your job… I used to be the co-CEO and creative director of a tech startup in the music industry. I sold it to a Fortune 500 company, ran it for a year, and ended up leaving Los Angeles to travel. Right now I’m pursuing the spiritual path full-time, via yoga, meditation, and energetic healing. Sometimes I do branding consultation on the side, and work on creative projects like this kimono collaboration with Beachgold; www.beachgoldbali.com/COLxbeachgold

What are you thoughts on blogging/social media? I started taking Instagram more seriously after they featured me as a suggested user. It’s an incredible creative outlet and network that’s allowed me to meet some really beautiful people around the world. Now I use it as a platform to share some of my experiences during this global shift in consciousness.

Take us through your typical day: My day usually starts off with an early wake up, followed by 2 hours of yoga and meditation, then a breakfast of fruit. After that it’s a combination of energetic release work, healing sessions, reading, journaling, stretching, being in nature – hiking / swimming / exploring, more yoga, and whatever else comes my way

If you weren’t a model what would you be doing? I’d probably be miserable in an office working on another company.

What is one thing most people wouldn’t know about you? I sleep most comfortably in a very strange position – Superman’s flying pose, with one arm and one leg up, on my side.

Favorite travel destination? It would have to be a 3-way tie between the Maldives, the Philippines, and Japan.

Who inspires you? Anyone who is completely true to and honest with themselves, or committed to their growth, or uplifting consciousness, spreading awareness, or demonstrates compassion, unconditional love, non judgement or equanimity. Anyone who is dedicated to their practice. Anyone who really accepts themselves on a core level, or anyone who is really working on it. Anyone who is working on creating a better world, helping others, and healing themselves.

Favourite Instagram moment? When people comment or email me to share that they really resonated with one of my messages, or needed to hear it that day. It’s beautiful to think that I could have helped them realize something or uplift them in any way.

What are the 5 things you pack when you go traveling that you can’t live without?

1) Crystals – I have a growing family of them that travel with me everywhere.

2) Journal – I write ideas, epiphanies, feelings, and experiences down every day

3) Sketchbook – to draw, design and create in

4) Camera & lenses

5) Salt & incense – for clearing and cleansing

Parting words of advice…. If it’s not making you happy, let go of it.
